Extension Requests

Customers can buy tattoos from any artist in the world, but they physically need to be on location in order to get their tattoo inked. Well, duh!

If a buyer wants to get inked after the Ink Date of a tattoo expires, they can send an Extension Request to the tattoo artist.

How extensions work:

  1. Buyer can request an extension for his tattoo, anytime. (The Ink Date of the tattoo will be readjusted at the end of this process.)

  2. Artist receives the request in the Asset Management page, and can make an Extension Offer to the buyer from there. For the artist, making an Extension Offer means to ask for a specific price for the request. Artists have the option to decline Extension Requests.

  3. Buyer receives the offer in the Asset Management page, and can accept the Extension Offer of the artist from there. Buyers have the option to decline Extension Offers.

Example: In real life situations, an artist may not want to promise the real life application of a tattoo, let’s say, after 1 year from its purchase.

The artist’s pricing may change in time, they may move to another location, or they may face with another issue that will keep them from practicing their profession. BirthMark gives artists a few options for the Ink Date of their tattoos and expects them to fulfill their promise (only) within that period. A buyer may miss the Ink Date of their tattoo for unforeseeable reasons, or because of issues that are out of their control. Extension Requests give buyers a chance to fix this situation by paying a reasonable fee to the artist.
