Burning a Collection

Last updated 1 year ago

When you create a collection, the name, the symbol, and the description of the collection are permanently recorded on the blockchain. If you made a mistake while creating the collection or want to change this information for any other reason, you must burn that collection and create a new one with the desired changes.

You can only burn collections that do not have any NFTs in them. If you have not minted any NFTs from a particular collection, you can burn it without an issue. However, if you have minted tattoos from a collection, you must burn all of the tattoos in that collection first, before burning the collection on the blockchain.

Important: If you ever sold an NFT from a particular collection, you can no longer burn that collection. Any sold NFTs will be transferred to the collectors’ wallets. The only way for an artist to burn a tattoo they have previously sold is to first buy back that tattoo on a secondary marketplace.

Artists can only burn the empty collections
