# What is an NFT?

An NFT, or **non-fungible token**, is a unique digital asset that is verified on the blockchain. Think of an NFT as a digital collectible – it is like a rare trading card or a limited edition print, but it exists entirely in the digital world. Just like a physical collectible, an NFT is one-of-a-kind and cannot be replaced.

One way to understand the concept of an NFT is to think of it like a digital version of a signed, limited edition print. Just like a signed print is a unique, valuable artwork that is verified by the artist's signature, an NFT is a unique, valuable digital artwork that is verified on the blockchain. **NFTs can be used to represent anything including all sorts of digital art, from traditional paintings and drawings to digital music and videos.** They offer artists a way to create, sell, and authenticate their digital artwork in a way that is secure and transparent.\ <br>
